The following are the service opportunities that I have been involved in. 

 

• Continued with my role as a mentor for the new doctoral students. It was my goal to build relationships in a safe and supportive environment and provide peers with guidance throughout their newly started academic journey.  

 

• Attended 3 of the half-monthly department meetings via Skype with faculty in the Curriculum and Instruction department at Kuwait University .

 

• Participated with colleagues in the College of Education at Kuwait University to develop a syllabus for a new course called Child And Family. 

 

• Conducted a workshop in Summer 2014 about photography for ECE preservice teachers at Kuwait University. The title of the workshop was  Photography and Children: Creativity, Learning and Fun. 

 

• Joined the Islamic Society of New Tampa during the spring semestr and served as a co-leader for the KG club at Daarus Salaam Mousque. My role was to work with the teachers and provide them with the support they need during the events and activities of the club.

 

• A current member of the following professional organizations:

  • Arabian Child Organization 

  • American Educational Research Association.

  • National Association for the Education of Young Children.

  • Florida Association for the Education of Young Children.
